How it works for accommodation-seekers:

The property is notified on the enquiry that they are a verified member.

Terms & Conditions

  1. The property (you) must offer the 15% saving to all verified members
  2. Verification is done automatically at the time of an enquiry. It is at the property’s discretion whether to offer the saving for a telephonic enquiry. (As you have no means to verify the membership number, it is advisable to get them to do a formal enquiry so they can be verified).
  3. If the property is currently running a "Special" greater than 15% then the "Special" price will apply. (No further savings needs to be offered). EXCEPT in the case where the "Special" is lower than 15%. In that case the 15% will apply.
    Example: A property offering a 10% discount, must offer an additional 5% discount to valid members - so they get a total 15% saving.
  4. The property must offer valid members the saving all year round. (Properties that pick and chose in which seasons to participate run the risk of being removed from the programme completely. Allowing selective participation defeats the integrity of this initiative).
  5. The property must not inflate the price before the 15% is applied. Prices displayed should be the rack rate. (The official or advertised price of a room).
  6. The property must honour any bookings made while the property was participating as a $elect Stays property.
  7. The property must honour the agreement and the spirit in which the initiative is designed to benefit local tourism.

South Point Self Catering Self Catering Accommodation In Agulhas

South Point is a small, personal, 3 star graded, highly recommended establishment, situated in the southernmost town in Africa, L'Agulhas.
The southernmost tip of Africa, where the Indian and Atlantic oceans meet, is within the gates of Agulhas National Park, which is a mere 150metres away.

The units are fully equipped, from fresh cotton linen and white towels to microwaves, washing- up liquid and dish cloths, braai grids, digital safes, satellite TVs and free Wi-Fi.
All the units have their own entrances, and each their own patio with private barbeque areas.
A laundrette is on-site for your convenience.

Unit One - Family Unit
Suitable for one couple and 2 children / 3 adults

Our family unit has one main bedroom with a double bed and en-suite bathroom with a shower, not a bath.
The larger lounge has two single beds, which serve as day-settees, as well as a 2 seater and a 3 seater in the kitchen. 
The flat screen tv has all the sport, 10 movie and m net channels, 406 news, and SABC channels.
It has a fully equipped kitchen with an indoor gas braai.
The undercover patio has a lovely view of the lighthouse, and across the road through the caravan park to the sea.

Unit Two - 2 Sleeper
Suitable for one couple

Unit 2 has one bedroom with a double bed and en-suite bathroom with shower not a bath.
The lounge and kitchen are open plan. The flat screen tv has all the sport, 10 movie and m net channels, 406 news, and SABC channels.
The cosy patio has a private braai/barbeque, table and chairs, and has a partial view down the road, pass the shops to the sea.

The flat screen TV has the 32 guest house channels, including all sport and 10 movie channels.
The cosy wooden deck style patio at the rear has a table and chairs, and a sunbed, and faces into the garden.

Unit Six - 4/5 Sleeper
Upstairs apartment suitable for 4/5 persons: Not suitable for children under the age of 14yrs.

This stunning 125sqm apartment consists of a large lounge/dining room with a fireplace, and semi open plan fully equipped kitchen with oven and hob, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, and a panoramic view of the sea and the lighthouse.
The Master bedroom has a queen size bed, and views of the lighthouse from one side and down the road past the shops to the sea from the other side.
The en-suite bathroom has a gorgeous oval bath and hand shower.
The second bedroom has 2 single beds, and a view of the lighthouse. The guest/2nd bathroom has a shower.
Two balconies: one to the back of the apartment with a fireplace, and an entrance balcony facing the sea.
Between the two bedrooms is an alcove with a day bed, with a sliding door to the back balcony and braai area.

All this and only...

  • A one minute walk from the sea, 3 huge tidal pools and ancient fish traps.
  • A two minute walk to the gates of the National Park and historic lighthouse.
